Symbolism
1. Magic & Royalty
Isis is the ancient Egyptian goddess of magic and king/queenship. Her great wings represent a veil of protection she holds over the wearer.
2. Change & Authority
The moon rests above her head. The moon's cycles are a reminder to flow with life's many changes. The serpent underneath is a symbol of divine authority.
3. Divine Protection
The hieroglyphic phrase on the ring's sides evoke the protection of Isis. They read, "Isis, she embraces you in peace; and drives away the adversary from your path."

With this ring, you may be invincible... Five major Egyptian deities (in order); Ra, Osiris, Isis herself, Horus, and Anubis watch over the king or queen laid to rest in the center of the ring.
2. Eternity
An entire mummy scene inspired by the Book of the Dead is sculpted into the inside. The mummy is a symbol of eternity, transcending the illusion of life and death. If you look really closely, you can even see tiny hieroglyphs on the walls behind the sarcophagus.

I found Nicholis's work through Tiktok, and even though I have never ordered anything purely from a Tiktok video before, the level of detail, care, and process that was shown going into each piece was unlike anything I had ever seen before. I knew I had to get one for myself!
The Veil of Isis caught my eye because not only is the design absolutely gorgeous, I loved that the intention behind the piece was about protection, even down to the hieroglyphics on the side. It makes a big difference for me to know the meaning behind the design. I have also been a huge Egyptian mythology fan since childhood, and even did a presentation on Isis in 5th grade, so I was definitely the correct target audience for this piece.
I placed an order on June 24th, got notified that it was shipped on July 25th, and finally received it on July 26th. The estimate of 4 weeks to ship is very accurate.
The product itself is even more gorgeous in person! My phone is probably not the best at capturing the quality, but all I can say is that I was completely unprepared for how beautiful, precise, and delicate the details are in-person. The turquoise at the top feels very securely set. There's so many tiny and precise markings all throughout the piece, very mesmerising to look at.
The packaging is very professional, sleek and clean. I was super excited to see it in my mailbox. There is plenty of cushioning to protect piece during transit.
Last but not least, I was very happy to see a very kind hand-written note left by the artist in the package as well :) All around such a wonderful personal touch. I love to see this level of dedication and passion in a small business, especially in the rising age of AI when it seems like quality is winning over quality in other places.
